What is a hotfix?

A hotfix is an emergency issue that needs to be fixed right away and does not need to go through a whole sprint cycle. It’s an exception where it can be developed, tested and deployed in a few hours or a day since it’s an extreme priority and clients want the critical issue fixed ASAP and deployed.
