When do we use Present Simple?

When do we use Present Continuous?
To talk about something that's happening at the moment of speaking. For temporary situations For plans in the near future
When do we use Present Perfect?
For past events when the time is not important but the result is interesting now. Something that started in the past and continues until now. Personal experiences or changes. For questions with yet and still. For questions asking how long until now.
When do we use Past Simple?
To talk about events which happened one after the other. To talk about actions completed in the past To talk about actions completed in the past, often with ago.
When do we use Past Continuous?
For an unfinished activity around a time in the past. To talk about simultaneous activities in the past. For an activity beginning before a past event and continuing until or after it.
When do we use Past Perfect?
To talk about something that happened before a past event. In sentences that have WHEN + PAST SIMPLE, to show that one event happened before the other.
When do we use WILL/WON'T?
When you know or believe something about the future. Sudden decisions. For promises/offers/personal prediction.
When do we use Going To?
When there's evidence that something is going to happen. For plans in the future.
