What is the gender bias in autism?

Autism often is under-diagnosed in females as most of the key criteria for diagnosis centre around limited social skills, relationships and communication. Autistic females are often better in social contexts than their male counterparts, so they may be misdiagnosed with things like depression, anxiety or OCD instead.
