level questions: Isotopes and Radioactive Decay

QuestionAnswer
What are Atoms made of?-They have a Nucleus that is Positively Charged due to the Protons -They also have Neutrons that are also in the Nucleus -Then there are the Negative Electron surrounding the Nucleus
What is the Atomic Number? What can it Define?-This is simply how many Protons there is in the Atom -Protons amount can Determine the Element
What is the Mass Number?-This is simply how many Protons and Neutrons there is in the Atom [The Mass]
What are Isotopes exactly?-They are simply Atoms that are the Same Element [Same Number of Protons] but differ in Neutrons Numbers therefore having the same Atomic Number but not Atomic Mass
What are the 4 Types of Radiation?-You have: -Alpha -Beta -Gamma -Neutron
Explain Alpha Radiation- What happens and what are they?-An Alpha Particle is simply 2 Neutron and has 2 Protons [Helium Nucleus] -They are Big, Heavy and also Slow Moving
Explain Beta Radiation- What happens and what are they?-A Beta Particle is literally an Electron, which has No Mass and a Negative Charge -They are Fast and Small -However, if a Beta Particle is Emitted, A Neutron will turn into a Proton, therefore meaning the Atomic Mass never Changes, but the Atomic Number does increase by 1
Explain Gamma Radiation - What happens and what are they?-After giving an Alpha or Beta Particle away, the Nucleus will probably release Even More Energy, by Emitting a Gamma Ray -They have no Charge or Mass - its Energy
Explain Neutron Radiation - What happens and what are they?-This is simply just the Nucleus, which might have Lots of Neutrons, throwing one away, meaning an Isotope forms of the Same Element
